I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore a range of deeply-rooted material, including: sexuality, blocked creativity, struggles in relationships (whether at home or work) and emotional difficulties, such as anger or depression. I also work with shock and trauma and pre/peri-natal experience.
I am currently working towards graduation as a Core Process Psychotherapist (having completed four-and-a-half years professional training at the Karuna Institute in Devon).
Core Process Psychotherapy is based upon the understanding that ‘underneath’ our difficulties is an innate sense of health and well-being. It is a gentle approach which works by paying attention to how we are in the present moment.
‘Paying attention’ helps to cultivate more awareness of the ways in which we hold ourselves back from our own creative potential. It includes our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual experience, as well as imagery and imagination.
My professional background:
I worked in theatre and the performing arts in South Africa before deciding to further my postgraduate studies in psychotherapy in the UK. I currently work part-time in finance for a small non-profit company which promotes health and well-being in Bristol. I also have an interest in bodywork, especially hatha yoga.
As a trainee, I am able to offer reduced rates. I also follow the Karuna Institute’s Code of Ethics.
