Psychotherapy can be helpful if you are struggling with a range of issues, including: *anxiety *anger *feeling low or depressed *relationship problems, at home or work *sexuality *bereavement *the impact of abuse or trauma *blocked creativity

It can also be supportive if you feel like you’ve lost a sense of meaning in your life, or are going through a spiritual crisis.

How I work:
I work using an approach that integrates aspects of Western psychology with mindfulness practices.
This approach (known as Core Process Psychotherapy) is based upon an understanding of the inherent health and creative potential that exists within all of us. It works by paying attention to thoughts, feelings and body sensations in a way that can uncover this innate potential. It is also an effective way of working gently with difficult experiences from the recent or distant past. This exploration takes place within the context of a safe, confidential relationship between therapist and client.

Making an appointment:
I offer a free, short introductory meeting so that we can meet each other in person. This would be an opportunity for you to say a little bit more about yourself and what you are hoping to work with. I can also answer any questions that you might have about the way that I work.
Should you wish to continue, we would then agree to work for six sessions. There would be a review process near the end so that you could decide whether you would like to continue working on a longer term basis or if you would like the sessions to come to an end.

I offer some concessionary rates.

My background/qualifications:
I am fully accredited with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a Core Process Psychotherapist, having completed a four-and-a-half-year professional psychotherapy training through the Karuna Institute in Devon, UK.
I’ve previously trained and worked in the performing arts in South Africa, and have a long-standing interest in hatha yoga. I currently work part-time as a project manager within the field of mental health.
