'Cairns' are made thoughtfully
We use the word in our clinic title.
All of us have travelled or journeyed in our lives, some to foreign and exotic destinations others have found joys and sights to delight nearer home. As a traveller we have passed signposts and markers to direct us or even had guides to help us on our way.
A cairn is such a marker found generally in wilder rural areas often on rugged and long pathways. They are a conical shape [usually] made of stones laid by those that have travelled before along the same route. In other words you will not be the first to travel this way and you are following in the footsteps of others. They are often reached in mist and rain but also in glorious sunshine with magnificent and beautiful views abounding.
There may also be an airy quality and sense of expansion and achievement in reaching them. Often we stop there a while to rest and breath in the fresh air that is around us. We are soon in a moment of calm looking about this ‘new’ world before us. The journeys to them and onwards are unique to each who travels that way.
The clinic’s name was chosen, apart from the fact that it is in Cairns road, with these ideas in mind. Our therapists have been along many therapeutic pathways learning as they go. The excitement of their discoveries has often been their route to becoming therapists. They now work with passion and delight in what they have to offer others. Their therapies are many and varied thus offering different journeys. Also what you experience and how you respond will vary for each person, since each has a unique life story.
Hopefully at the Cairns Clinic you will find new journeys of exploration to follow that may help you to feel supported, nurtured, and ultimately healthier as you develop and move along your own pathway
